Painting created by exploring the fear this animal evokes in me — so as not to stop at what appears on the surface, but to enter deeply into it.
We are perhaps frightened of it precisely because it embodies the qualities that reconnect us to our instinct and to our deepest parts.
Native Americans had words to speak with it and revered it as a spirit bearing great teachings related to our relationship with the place where we live.
